I've just returned to NYC from the idyll pictured above, a lovely place called Wildacres where I spent two weeks writing songs in a cabin and hiking mountain trails. I'd work all day on the screen porch while the squirrels ran up and down the trees, sometimes pausing to shout at me if they didn't like what I was up to. Little furry music critics. Sometimes I'd hear a small crash and look over to see that a small snake had fallen out of the chimney.
Now I'm back here in the land of $2 egg sandwiches and strangers screaming at each other and I have to say, after the clean mountain living I was doing, it's extremely disorienting. Still, I will learn to love it again because that's what we do, us people.
And in the meantime there will be many chances to go out and do the thing I love, including a long overdue return to my homeland of Boston:
June 18 - Max Cellar - Brooklyn, NY w/Dream Boss
June 19 - The BarN - Williamston, MA - BUY TIX
June 20 - Lompoc Cafe - Bar Harbor, ME
June 21- Central Gallery - Bangor, ME
June 22 - Zuzu - Cambridge, MA
July 3 - Baby's All Right - Brooklyn, NY w/Ben Seretan (6 PM show)
July 9 - Manhattan Inn - Brooklyn, NY
July 13 - Bowery Ballroom - New York, NY w/Natalie Prass - BUY TIX
July 17 - Pratt Institute - Brooklyn, NY
July 29 - Bunna Cafe - Brooklyn, NY
That Bowery Ballroom show in particular is very exciting for us. Natalie Prass is an amazing songwriter and performer, and it will be our first time gracing the hallowed halls and sipping the $10 beers of that particular rock establishment. For real though, it is a beautiful room and the sound is amazing there.
